Name: Miss Julie
Teaching since: August 2005
Grade I’m currently teaching: 1st
Grades I’ve taught: 2/3 MAP, 2nd, a 1/2 combo and 1st.
After School Math and Reading Academic Intervention for 4th, 5th and 4/5.
I also have spent my summers teaching a four week Pre K program.
A little about me...
I grew up in Northern California in Yuba City where I spent my free time playing on the levees and in the orchards. In my youth I thought that everyone went camping for weeks on end for vacation. I am excited to be living in yet another community that values nature.
When I left home I went 45 minutes north to Chico State for college where I did both my undergrad and teaching credential.
In 2005 the Ross Valley School District hired me straight out of college.
I have LOVED teaching in the Ross Valley School District my entire career.
I am currently the Co. President of the Ross Valley Teacher's Association, and I am a mentor teacher to a Mrs. Dewa who is in her 3rd year at Manor. I am also participating in the 1st of a three year Math and Science Grant. I am really excited about this grant. It is about raising the level of discourse in the classroom. Within this grant I will be working with teachers all over Marin, College of Marin, Dominican University and the Exploratorium!
